Maraetai means “meeting place by the sea”- fitting for people who are looking for a meeting place to practice yoga, making time for yourself to reconnect with your breath and body. At Maraetai Yoga Studio we practice Iyengar Yoga which focusses on detail, precision and alignment in the performance of yoga poses and breath control. The style often makes use of props, such as belts, blocks and blankets which enable students to perform the asanas (poses) correctly, minimizing the risk of injury or strain. extending the spine in back bends
